Kept your history somewhere else? Bring it with Fynema CSV.

Trakt, Simkl, a spreadsheet or your own notes: for any source without a direct import, put your history in a simple CSV file and upload it to Fynema.

1. Export your data

  1. Export your data from the service you use, or start a new sheet in a spreadsheet app (Numbers, Excel, Google Sheets).
  2. Put the column names on the first row: title, year, type, rating, watched_date. Only title is required.
  3. Save the sheet as CSV (UTF-8).

titleThe title's name (required). The original title matches best.
yearRelease year. Helps tell apart titles with the same name.

ratingRating out of 5 (half points allowed). Can be left empty.
watched_dateWatch date as YYYY-MM-DD. Can be left empty.

2. Upload it to Fynema

  1. Open Move your history in Fynema and pick Fynema CSV as the source.
  2. Choose what to move (Watched, Ratings or My list) and select your file.
  3. Upload it; titles are matched to the catalogue by name, year and type.
  4. Check the matches and confirm.

Films and seriesAdded as a film or series based on the type column.
Your ratingsConverted into Fynema reactions to feed your Taste DNA.
Watch datesKept in your history when watched_date is filled in.
Your listUploaded with My list, titles are saved without being marked watched.

Frequently asked

Can I import my Trakt or Simkl history into Fynema?

There's no direct import for these services. Adapt your export to the Fynema CSV template with title, year, type, rating and watched_date columns, then upload it.

Which columns does Fynema CSV need?

Only title is required. year, type (movie or tv), rating (out of 5) and watched_date (YYYY-MM-DD) make matching and your profile more accurate.

Can I use ratings out of 10?

We recommend ratings out of 5 in the template. Values of 5 and below are read on a 5-point scale.

Is importing with CSV free?

Yes. Importing your history is free and needs no tokens.
